We are now looking for an economist for Operational Support within Education Gävle. We continuously work to develop the organization to improve operational support and processes with the aim of focusing more clearly on students' goal fulfillment. The economists at Education Gävle are a support function for the operations and work together in a team characterized by openness and collaboration.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an economist with us, you play an important role in supporting school leaders and operations with financial analyses, planning, and follow-up. You provide qualified support in matters related to budgeting, accounting, year-end closing, and procurement processes, thereby contributing to creating the best possible conditions for learning in Gävle's schools.

In this role, you will be responsible for ongoing financial work, accounting, reconciliations, and year-end closing. You will analyze and follow up on budgets and present results in a pedagogical and target group-adapted manner. You will work with and develop procurement processes and contract follow-up, contribute to improving work methods, routines, and processes, and participate in projects and conduct internal training as needed.

You will work closely with the financial strategist and other economists within the sector.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university degree in economics or other relevant experience that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have experience in qualified financial work, good knowledge of Office 365, particularly Excel, and a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

It is an advantage if you have experience in financial work within the public sector or educational operations, as well as if you have worked in financial systems such as ERP Unit4 and/or Proceedo.
